 Objective :Empowering organizations to help themselves with capacity building and staff training in order to allow growth and increased services to their communities; to assist  non-profits in obtaining the tools necessary to be competitive for funding.



Experience

1991-Present Grant Writer and Reviewer

Chief staff grant writer with over $2 million in real property and $300,000 in successful grants.

Reviewing grants for various County and Federal grants programs. Federal Reviewer for Health and Human Services grants.



Consultant:Currently assisting community and religious non-profits throughout the country with staff and volunteer training; working to increase their capacity and establish  new programs.

Assisted in the remedy of deficiency and monitoring problems of organizations so funding would not be retracted or put on hold.

Successfully worked with local banks to procure loan funds to purchase housing for non-profit projects.

Work with auditors and non-profit staff to complete necessary reporting and fiscal requirements and billing for reimbursements and draw downs on grants.

Assisted and advised non-profits on Federal and State compliance issues regarding exempt filing and reporting requirements

 Programs Director

Currently: Director of the Jenai Annabelle Morehead Foundation which grants funds to nonprofits who provide services for housing and education and owner of Foundation Consultants which assists in nonprofit business development.

 
Successfully ran the following programs as a nonprofit director for over 15 years

HUD Supportive services program (6 years), State funded summer

program through Southern California Edison (4 years), Inland Valley Development Association housing project (4 years), Welfare to Work programs (3 years); Women’s Shelter Director (3 years).

Worked with local city and county representatives on community projects

Supervised housing purchase and rehab  as a Community Housing Development Organization and assisted other organizations to do the same.

Developed Transitional living programs, low-income affordable housing and women’s shelter programs.


Generated written financial and monitoring reports. Presented reports orally when needed.
