FAQs-Our Community Work
When were we established?
We began our work in 2006 with an extensive background in the nonprofit industry. We had a desire to support others and began our philanthropy work by volunteering our time.
How do we do business?
Our organization is a nonprofit. We work on fee based projects that align with our mission, such as education and consulting. A portion of our revenue is then given to qualified organizations, in accordance with IRS rules. Please keep in mind that we cannot assist some organizations due to conflicts of interest.
What projects do we support?
We support projects that align with our mission to build the capacity of organizations to support stable and healthy communities. Our focus is capacity building which means that when you build your resources and skills and hit a capacity contraint or capacity limit we help to bridge the gap between what you can do and what still needs to be done
Do we accept unsolicited requests for assistance?
No. We carefully review suggestions made by our advisors and board of directors.
If my organization is chosen what paperwork do I have to fill out?
You will be given the opportunity to fill out an application that requests your project details and your budget. Following receipt of the application we may require more information. Offering an organization an application does not mean an approval. After a board or advisory review, a letter or email will be sent with details of acceptance, denial or the need for more information. We will also require your 501c3 letter. We will check to see if you are current on your reporting with the secretary of state, attorney general, thestate controller or franchise tax and the IRS. Any compliance issues must be taken care of before support is given.
Are there reporting requirements?
Yes. A report is due within six months or less of the support given to an organization. It all amounts to proof of doing what you said you were going to do. Reports can be in the form of proof of expenditures related to your approved project, proof of execution of a project.
How long does it take to get support?
It all depends on what type of support you need and the amount of projects that we are currently working on. Typically we try to stay within a quarterly cycle.
Do we accept contributions?
No.
Who is the founder?
Jenai Annabelle Morehead is the founder. With more than 25 years of dedicated service she continues her work in the industry helping others to build the capacity to change lives and help communities.
